CSL Assiniboine

A boat called the CSL Assiniboine arrived in the Twin Ports last July for the first time under that name. It had previously made many trips here as the Jean Parisien. It is back today for the 6th time this year, loading taconite as it did on the first trip. Early this morning, it may be at anchor waiting for a dock or coming in. It should be departing this afternoon. Hopefully, it will be dark during any of its two trips under the Lift Bridge since it is rumored to be well decorated with Christmas lights.

CSL Assiniboine loads first cargo

Half a new boat was in the Twin Ports yesterday. With a new hull, the 730 foot Jean Parisien arrived in Superior Saturday morning as the 739′ 10″  CSL Assiniboine. Taconite at the Burlington Northern Dock (above) was the first cargo loaded into the new vessel.
