Trudy is expected in Duluth mid May, 2017 to discharge kaolin clay at the Port Terminal. This will be her 3rd trip to the Twin Ports; she discharged the same cargo on the first 2 visits. Other ships that came to Duluth to discharge kaolin clay are the Lady Doris  in April 28, 2015, the Yulia on November 7, 2014 and December 1, 2016 and the Cornelia  on Nov 23, 2013. The Trudy, Lady Doris and Yulia are owned by MST Mineralien Schiffahrt Spedition und Transport, in Germany. Possibly, they picked up this contract sometime after the Cornelia was here, since those 3 ships are commonly owned.
She discharged kaolin clay here in May, 2016
On her trip here in November, 2015, you see the crane dropping the open scoop into the cargo hold to grab the clay; below, the scoop is closed and filled with clay to be poured in the funnel (above, bottom right corner) where the clay drops onto a conveyor belt that takes it inside for further processing.
In the two pictures below, she is tied up at the Port Terminal after arriving on November 17, 2015 to discharge clay.

  1. Anyone know what’s up with TRUDY, She left Duluth and is now north of Outer Island and not moving, Her status shows (Not Under Command) ?
