On March 14th, 2011, the Adriaticborg was launched from a shipyard in Shanghai. She is the 15th similar Wagenborg ship (1A ice-classed, multipurpose vessel). Her maiden voyage took her from Pho My, Vietnam with windmill parts to Beaumont, Texas. She arrived in Duluth on November 2,  2011, with wind turbine parts from Denmark.
