On Wednesday July 11th, at 12:00 Noon, the ‘Niña’, ![]() a replica of Columbus’ favorite ship will arrive in Duluth. The ship will be docked at Lakehead Boat Basin, 1000 Minnesota Ave., until her departure early Thursday morning July 19th. The ship opens to the public on Friday July 12th. While in port, the general public is invited to visit the ship for walk- aboard, self-guided tours. |
![]() The ship has been touring continually since 1992 as a ‘sailing museum’ for the purpose of educating the public and school children on the ‘caravel’, a Portuguese ship used by Columbus and many early explorers to discover the world. |
