|The Federal Rideau will be here in April, 2016 for her 8th visit to the Twin Ports. Built in 2000, she was first here in September, 2003 when she loaded grain at the Peavey elevator. She was back that November with a cargo of lumber she discharged at the Port Terminal.
Most notably, she came here in September, 2006 (not pictured) to load iron ore pellets, a very unusual cargo for a salt water ship to load here. The iron ore pellets came from a mine on the Iron Range owned by Mittal Steel. She took them to a steel mill owned by Mittal in Algeria.
The Federal Rideau arrived in Duluth on April 7, 2013 (above) to load grain at the CHS terminal in Superior. It was her 7th trip here since she was built in 2000. She made a stop in Hamilton, Ontario to discharge cargo before coming to Duluth.
In September, 2010, she was here to load grain at Peavey. Picture above taken Monday, September 13, 2010
She arrived June 5, 2007 to load wheat for Spain at CHS.
In December, 2004, she brought steel coils to discharge at the Port Terminal before leaving here to load grain in Thunder Bay.
