H. J. Schwartz

H. J. Schwartz was built in 1995, is 150 feet long and flies a U.S. flag

The H. J. Schwartz is a derrick barge with a 70-ton crane that lifts stone and rock during the Corps of Engineers breakwater maintenance. She works on Lake Michigan and Lake Superior ports. Duluth is the home port.
Above and below, on May 4, 2005, the rig was just off the shore in front of the Marine Museum, adding rocks to the break wall.
