Atlantic Erie was built in 1985 in Collingwood, Ontario as the Honorable Paul Martin. She became the Atlantic Erie three years later. Another boat now uses the name Honorable Paul Martin. Both still come to the Twin Ports. At 736 feet long, the Atlantic Erie is the second longest boat in the Canadian fleet. Most are 730 feet long. Built later, the Atlantic Erie took advantage of longer legal sizes for seaway traffic. In 1988, she began work on the Atlantic Ocean and even spent time in the Pacific Ocean before coming back to the Great Lakes. She has a 262 foot self-unloader on her deck. Notably, she was one of the first boats to carry the Company web site address  on her side.  Picture above taken Saturday, April 11, 2009
