Federal Schelde enters the Duluth harbor The Federal Schelde came to Duluth Superior in May, 2011 for the 11th time since she was built in 1997. On a trip here in April, 2004, she loaded wheat for Antwerp, Belgium. In June of that year, she was back to discharge steel coils at the Port Terminal before loading chromium ore, brought here from Montana, for Sweden.
In 2009, she was the first ocean ship to load iron ore pellets at the BNSF dock in Superior. She took that cargo to Dunkirk, France. However, on most trips, she loads grain here for ports usually in Europe or Africa. Picture above taken Friday, June 18, 2004
