I’ve noticed that the Island Queen ferry is actively running between Bayfield and La Pointe. I don’t recall ever seeing that before at this time of year (or even a month from now). I’m guessing that this means that there isn’t much ice. Michigan seems almost ice free and I didn’t see any ice in the Detroit River. The only place I’m seeing much is in the Mackinac Straits. I could see people walking near the shore on the webcam at Mackinaw City and the pressure ice was about 3x taller than them. Considering that lately we’ve had wind over 30 mph, I guess that makes sense.

Great Lakes Trader, when are the historic ships coming to Duluth harbor this summer?
