The Algoma Navigator came under the Duluth Aerial Lift Bridge Wednesday afternoon, October 17, 2012 at 2:37. When I went to bed, she was down at the North American Salt Company (formerly known as Cutler-Magner) dock discharging salt. When I looked out my window this morning, the Navigator was gone but a good looking pile of salt was left behind (above). The pile is however being taken away, if slowly, by a long line of trucks and a front end loader. The Algoma Navigator left under the Lift Bridge at 5:13 this morning to clean out her salty holds and came back in at 11:30 this morning (below) to load iron ore pellets at the CN dock in West Duluth. algomanavigator20121018_6112

Just where did that ship clean out her salty holds? Not out in Lake Superior I hope!

That is a lot of salt! This a very interesting ship; my favorite of the Algoma fleet. Thanks for posting!
