The Edward L. Ryerson arrived in Duluth at 11:30 am on May 18th, 2009 (above). She will be going to Fraser Shipyards later today. They are waiting at the CN dock in West Duluth (1:32 Monday afternoon)  until the St. Clair can be moved at Fraser, allow the Ryerson to make her berth. That is expected to happen later this afternoon.

I remember the Ryerson doing circles outside the canal while waiting for the canal to clear the day back in August 1988 when the Yugoslavian saltie rammed the wall.

Hi! Do you know which out of the Ryerson, Barker, American Victory, St. Clair, and American Spirit have permanent lay-ups? I hope the Ryerson’s is temporary, it’s a beautiful ship. It is a shame to see this happen. Love the website!
    Thanks for everything.

Hello do you know the number of boats that never left winter layup in Duluth thanks

Lack of work; bad economy. She joins many other boats across the Great Lakes that are either in layup or haven’t left winter layup yet.

Hi Ken: I am enjoying your new website! As for the Ryerson coming in today, what is happening that she is going back to Fraser? Thanks for commenting.
