The Cason J. Callaway should be here this evening with a cargo of limestone loaded at Stoneport, Michigan. The boat is named for a man who spent most of his life in Georgia, working in the textile industry. He joined the board of directors of US Steel in 1944 and served until his death in 1961. Cason Jewell Callaway and his wife, Virginia Hand Callaway founded Callaway Gardens in Georgia to provide a wholesome family environment where all may find beauty, relaxation, inspiration and a better understanding of the living world.
